What is HONE? A new culinary talent agency from @whetstonemedia, supporting the most talented innovators in the food, beverage and adjacent sectors. 

What is Whetstone? A 7-year-old media company dedicated to global food origins and culture. Whetstone has published 12 print magazines, a podcast network with 11 shows and hundreds of articles from around the world. 

Why is a media company now an agency? When we started in 2016/17, it was all about trying to get more visible through bylines and trying to make media less racist. But along the way, we all became media companies—y'all are broadcasting yourselves better than anyone else could ever do. What our community needs is for us to step forward and offer support—as a verb, as a bridge, as leverage. Even as a business. 

What Do You Do For Talent? 

HONE will leverage wide ranging and international relationships across media, entertainment, and food and beverage to cultivate opportunities on behalf of our talent. 

Art needs markets and benefactors and we go after that backing through creating compelling engagement opportunities for brands who want to fulfill that role, and are looking to use food as a means of building community and credibility. 

Who is HONE Talent?
Established and emerging culinary talent, and in particular those using food in a way that is connected to a larger thesis of activism, art and story. These are people who are clear on what they want and believe, and use f + B + farming to make us think. In other words you can’t just be poppin’, it’s gotta be about somethin!
